Frustrations

You guys remember when we played a game; the most comments ever in history. We stopped at 372 and I thought that was a lot. Now I blog DailyKos and they average 5000 comments in one day if the topic is hot.

So they have thing thing they call open thread, everyone goes crazy and free associates.

Tonight, I am frustrated about something, about an email that I was expecting. What happened was that sometimes my emails go to the spam folder, and I have no idea if my email didn’t get sent or if its in the spam folder. So I have to say excuse my language and fck it.

My frustration is spam folder!

Aight, its your turn. Share things frustration; or you bitterness. I am bitter and I am proud!

I am frustrated about gas prices. I think Ethiopia should use this to his advantage and start exporting well bred donkeys as means of transportation. And give donkey maintenance classes at the learning annex or community colleges worldwide.

I am frustrated over the number of people that think Obama’s father is the bushman from The God’s Must be Crazy.

  25. Gravatar Icon 25 Ted

oh boy - LIFE is so frustrating! I mean, you can’t have everything you want. You just can’t. Sometimes it’s almost too much to deal with. I’m generally pretty resistant to that sorta thing, but it’s a wonder more people don’t crack under the pressure…:-). But you know what, you just have to know how to turn your frustrations into fun and just enjoy the ride…

    Hey Nolawi,
I’ve read all those posts, I was still a reader tho i didn’t post anything… i hope you’re not assuming i’m confused ’cause i went to Naz. thought u learnt better after the “ye nazreth fabrica setoch” or are you saying i’m “super” confused because i went to nazreth, i think we’re all confused, some of us just don’t want to admit it

A few questions for you Nolawi, You said you were able to tell from “your personality”… What personality? You think you know enough about Nani that u can even start talking about her personality? And also are you implying that all Nazareth students are so predictable and similar? Human mind is so much more complex than that! …so u can not just walk around and make assumptions, especially when it concerns an individual’s emotional and psychological state. Nazareth is a fairly big school, right? So not even identical twins who share the same biological and physiological features, reared in the same environment are the similar let alone hundreds and thousands of students…. So how about we put this biases away and resume with our frustrations..huh?
Luckily u got it right… But next time it can get you in trouble.

Nolawi how could you make a comment like that just after reading my top frustration? you’re making me even more frustrated!
You know I always hear something about Naz let’s talk about all the other schools, what about them! That’s another thing that frustrates me, the minute u say u went to Nazareth people start picturing you in their heads and i can almost see it …
why are people so prejudiced, and just assume things? a little more open mindedness wouldn’t hurt.

Things that frustrate eh, uhmm where to start? British laws frustrate me, children in conflicts, trial by media bothers me ,and trying to remain a vegetarian in a culture of meat eaters is extremely frustrating….

London taxi drivers who know about every subject in the media or even the world a lot more than I do then as if that was not bad enough they show off and proceed to tell me all about it… it starts off as amusing and only comes to an end after I reach my destination by which time it has long stopped being amusing I could win a price for sighing, but I haven’t got the heart of guts to tell them to stop, what if they throw me into the street? I don’t like risking it so I just sigh until the end,…electronic muggers more grrrrrrrr, what else?….people who knock at my door with leaflets who want to save my soul more than I want to save my soul frustrate me,..yeah , they tell me they care too amazingly, they make me sigh because like the cab drivers they too don’t listen to my objections, even telling them I haven’t got a soul hasn’t worked so far, so I gave up and resigned myself for the knock on the door it is only once a week, it is sort of bearable…and lastly it is frustrating when love and friendship is lost for the flimsiest of reason and nothing is ever the same again…

  46. Gravatar Icon 46 Nolawi

Ahh you know I am just trying to piss some people off… I like teasing you girls.

and i got more frustrations to add for y’all (u shouldn’t have let me start on this)
The transit system that’s ALWAYS LATE!
especially in winter, where i stand in the freezing -40 something temperature praying for it to come while i watch my eyelashes turn to ice, my hands stop functioning and my skin turn to purplish pink (which is really weird cause i’m not even “key”)

  49. Gravatar Icon 49 Hilbet

    Oh lordy…where to start

    1. people telling me I should go to church because “it is good for you”.
    2. I not wanting to go to church because I’m certain I will come back with more sins than I walked in with. It is frustrating when you mind is drifting in the middle of Kidase.
    3. my cubicle neighbor complaining and sighing about his work load every time there is a project due…what the hell do you think you’re here for?
    4. Not getting my priorities straight especially when it comes to the stupid genzeb and shit comes up every time I think I got it figured out bringing me back to where I started from

I think I’ll stop here. This was a good brief therapy…thanks for letting me vent Nol.

  60. Gravatar Icon 60 Tsedey

Thanks gal pals… now I understand where the frustration is coming from….why should our body be repressed for some Euro-centric standards? Right? Okay…but I say let’s be thankful that we haven’t lived in the corest era. Can u imagine what it would be like?? Anyways… at a time like this where you have tons of choices ranging from sexy to granny… sporty to push up, strapless, 3 ways, cotton, lace, nursing bra, wireless,…. so many competitive brands and so many ways to wear them. Going bra-less on the other hand could be an option for some, as for me,…I would feel like going on the streets naked. I’d rather feel the discomfort(if any) than catching every man’s gaze at my nipples.

Bottom line- who ever created bras, I bow down to her(assuming it’s female)

I like this guy way of getting even..

Last year BA lost the luggage of one guy, his bride and his best man on their way to the wedding with all the wedding clothes in it, they eventually got their bags but no compensation so they decided to put their frustration in song, promptly BA said they would offered compensation but received no reply blah blah standard industry reply when when caught unaware, and they are still losing everyones bags or seinding the bags and their owners to different countries…here is the link…

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp3bNlBi-Iw

  66. Gravatar Icon 66 bgFelasfit

    lol ok…
….frankly speaking, i’m more deeply intrigued than frustrated

    :)

^^this would be a fascinating topic for a bernos blog post actually! anybody? anybody?

  67. Gravatar Icon 67 Anon

Hidaya, what’s up with the whole BA fiasco? And they dared put Naomi on their ‘terrorist’ shitlist? How can there be 20000 bag backlog, and not happy with that imagine, they have to ship the backlog to Italy for processing? Why italy? is labor cheaper or do they work harder than Polish? Indian? Ethiopian :). Here the airline industry is on a consolidation wave: the second and fourth largest are combining to form mega airline, there peers are rumored to be thinking of a bigger mega. Virgin should just buy BA before one does from here. Brace for costumer service to get worst, not better no matter how much one sings the blues :)

    Hi Anon…

The BA fiasco, they have been at it for months now, but the opening of a new terminal T5 2 weeks ago has turned it into an unmitigated disaster that shames BA, they’re lucky they only got mocked for it.I now know 4 people who went abroad all with no clothes at all sheesh….

*Hidaya, what’s up with the whole BA fiasco? And they dared put Naomi on their ‘terrorist’ shitlist?*

Lol, Naomi’s reputation& convictions for chucking things at people mainly phones or whacking them round the head with it precedes her I think, mind you this may be the first time she is cheered on for screeching, biting, maybe not the spitting that is gross at BA officials. Her fellow supermodel cried and got her bags and compensation without straight away. Naomi hissed and got booted out had to spend the night in a police cell, probably not the first time for her… She might be having the last laugh now though, BA were banning her for that, now she and millions others might boycott them and her hissy fit all but forgotten thanks to BA….

The bags were sent to an Italian warehouse so they could be sorted out God and BA only knows why, maybe BA don’t have warehouses which is just odd, anyway they made a mess of that too and are flying and driving the missing luggages back to the UK, ….and the backlog grows bigger not smaller, they giving Virgin free publicity, Thank God I prefer Virgin, usually you and your bags meet at your destination int he same country, not so with BA, sheesh…

Can someone please youtube Bill lying about Lewinsky and Hilary lying about Bosnia and play them side by side. That would help aleviate some of my frustration….

  71. Gravatar Icon 71 Anon

Dinich: what annoys me: people like you and me who vote or like Obama because he is black and a messiah. black jesus. first black and non-catholic pope. A guy we want to have a drink with, nothing better than having a drink with a messiah, pass the bread and wine, please. The loser who we wanted to have a drink with, beats me again, is a born-again recovering alcoholic without a drink supposedly for many years. If anyone wants to have a drink with either of the two… call me if you need help finding a therapist.

sorry guys to divert from the topic but since it’s an open thread… there u go…

Is it true that Teddy Afro is put behind bars for a hit and run accident which is considered a homicide by Ethiopian Penal Code??

  73. Gravatar Icon 73 Rick Bernos

CSI Addis Abeba, using the foremost in the technology that is science d’crim (science of crime) have deduced that the car involved in the H&R was indeed Mr. Teddy Afro’s. The evidence on him is car dna, otherwise called VIN (vehicle identification number). By taking the fragments of color sample found on the H&R area, they have deduced, without an ounce of doubt, that its Mr. Afro’s car.
By checking the degradation of Mr. Afro’s skin and oil residue from inside the car, they have conclusively deduced he was in the car at the moment of the H&R.
Moreover, an Ourael Voodoo priestess had professed of the H&R two weeks before it had happened in the TenQwayoch Weekly, a bi-annual printed flyer.
And to seal the deal and ultimately land Mr Afro in the slammer was the witness that was in the car that had signed an affidavit saying that Mr. Afro sad yet imminent accident happened when he was signing her breasts using a fountain pen.

    There you have it.

Be sure to follow next weeks episode.

Thanks Rick, what’s funny is it didn’t have any media coerage or may be I didn’t search extensively but still… I haven’t found a single source on this issue. Why obfusicating such an incident? Apart from that, it’s an unfortunate and sad incident for everyone involved esp. the victim.

I knew it was too good to be true that Teddy was able to say what he said about Meles or his party and be able to get away with it without any problems. I guess it was just a matter of time. I feel so bad for him considering how much he loves his country and how he didn’t want to stay away when he could have. Meles is playing way too many dirty games (such as his games with Kinijit) that will eventually will catch up with to him, at least I hope. I also sympathize with the innocent victim that lost his life.

In Uganda they used to have this morning Radio show called, Flash Time.note that,
that is toilet flashing. So you can call and say ..I want to flash the president or my firend or my boss for doing this and that. The radio host has a sound effect of toilet flashing. He calls all the names of people that are asked to be flashed and put on the flash sound. It was so much fun . Its not everyday you hear ppl say ..”well Mr. President you are going down the drain today”…lol

..a topic worth killing time…and the question, what doesn’t frustrate you?..
for me ::Us, Africans -A misplaced STOIC mind-set & a buttonless ego!::

One thing I’ve agreed with Nolawi’s consistency is his Disapproval of Abesha Ladies throwing ‘emselves at other races (esp. the Western Male) & he’s’bn solidly & adamantly consistent and I have always been in sync with him on that.

It’s like whether the spiritual verse “AB, wolde, womenfesQedus.. 1 Honu, 2 Honu, 3 Honu …” we will never have a mental-eye-to-eye with those spiritual dots … yet, we were brought up to accept it as our spiritual guidance, belief & norm that pave the way to connect us with our spiritual father.

my reasoning leans on my understanding of my values, my experiences as a black man, my exposure to the human suffering back home & in the West, the enlightenment, the elucidation, the education, exposure that I have been fortunate to accumulate in Europe & the Americas … etc…

    ::A misplaced STOIC mind-set & a buttonless ego::

Do we, Africans, have A-Z justification, excuses, rationalization for every practical thing that other humans be able to come up with a workable solution for?

If you ride with the same thought-process and have seen it all growing up back home, you will say, YES. But, putting aside all others, let us hit the easy natural thing we have at hand: Love & Romance. Nolawi’s “ethiofused” thing.

In sedet, we fail to implement the natural mode-of-operandi in a way that enriches our inner soul, quench the thirst of our romance’s needs. Why? many reasons… to throw a few, let us zoom into the Abesha circle.

::Put all Abesha women in one basket just 4 a sec::
the quality, the junk, the able, the disable, the active, the passive, the awesome, the gruesome, the independent, the co-dependent, ..etc…

Because… in sedet, that is what has happened. We (both men & women) don’t know who is who. All we know is that we wear that Abesha skin. All the decisive ingredients in life are being overlooked in the process. And that is where the FAILURE is, THE PROCESS.

    THE PROCESS::
No matter how excellent planner you think you are, unless, you have a process, a check-list type when executing that process, one way or the other, it is a matter of time before the expose’ comes back to bite. So, each of us are failing in the process. mixing up processable & the NOT so processable.

    ::Abesha Women & their Market::
They decide to scarce themselves or sky-rocketing their value in our Abesha men’s market but they make themselves -so Ubiquitous, abundance & but less valuable- at the Western males’ market?

China produces two types of goods: one that goes to Africa and one that goes to the West. Why? Because, China doesn’t value us, doesn’t respect us, doesn’t see us as equal partners, and capable of knowing what it provides us, even if we do, it thinks we are momentarily powerless & sees us as desperate incapable lots, so it plays the market as a merchant and a consumer both at the same time. We are at its mercy. UNTIL, we decide to empower ourselves and wake up to learn and throw off the exploitation and deal sensibly and honorably.

In exact the same token, ARE they being treated as equal partners? are they getting their money worth? are they being FOISTED OFF over time?

Our women feels, believes, that the standard that they have achieved, the value that they possess is much higher than we Abesha men be able to sync up to.

BUT, a Western Male with low standard in his society is good/high enough for a Abesha woman although she possesses a very higher standard than him. so whu lowering herself that low? and what does that say about Abesha woman’s “advancement, sophistication”? to me!? much…..

She is not the proud, the dignified Abesha woman that I knew of in the streets of Addis, and that the one I cherished, loved, and went crazy about …that I used to miss her everything… her absolute distinct Abesha scents… her wisdom, her fortitudeness, her cheerfulness, her checked-attitude, her FEMINISM magnetic power that kept my hope to lean against hope… that didn’t care whether I had BIRR but would meet me for a quick Hello…that innocent and sincere way of looking things in perspective…that innocent STOICISM….

::Their is also the –Unspoken CODE-::
For me, it is not a standard that we Abesha men fail to meet theirs or they ours,
THE women’s –Unspoken CODE- that God-given natural asset that they have between the legs…use it as a weapon as politicians use food as a weapon to starve our people.

But, no woman, IMHO, can boldly say that I, the Abesha Jallit, transcends Abesha’s spectrum and have been made a whole in the Western male EQeF (embrace) .. and all my 5 sensors are in sync…and no void in my life. The reality is that I keep seeing sisters falling of the cliff …once all the pleasure and exploitation, adventure is tapered off.

So, how does a fine Abesha sister with a brain, conscience & with Abesha value that is foreign to him, with Abesha passion & compassion that is foreign to a Western Male that is wired so individualistic, BE ABLE TO OPEN up herself, her being, her blossom dignity, to a WESTERN male but SHUTS OFF herself… for the one that enriches her soul, the Abesha brotha… some say rationalize it to deny it…and call it love transcends…… oh well….

Individuals decide their life. But, it is discussion..& it is my perspective..… if their happiness is true, good for them.

Our –misplaced STOIC mindset- has been killing us all back home in Africa and it surely is consuming us abroad.

Lowering women to such levels FRUSTRATE ME! realize this not all women are the same, as are men, so try and keep a positive attitude to the new ones that u meet, and don’t judge them because of your past experiences - ’cause that’s just not fair!

So what happens if China provides one good, same global good: would you be able to pay as much as the western consumer? No, right! So you get the inferior good because it costs less, and that is all African can offord, barely. The differnce is Africa and the West are ‘outsourcing’ for different reason, one for cheap labor, the other lack of _______. What does respect have to due with capitalism? In your speak, its Africa that does not value itself, not the other way arround, because whats the value of any good you buy or refuse to buy? It’s as much value as you want to attach to the good.

I like your warped way of connecting all sort of things though… keep it up. But easy on the women, they are not as bad.

I am frustrated by how a greater part of my happiness is dependent on the weather, surveys; (since when does my opinion matter even when I give it?), hair frizz lotions (they dont do what they say on the label) that keep hair curl and frizz free the whole day not just 3 hours and forthcoming London Mayoral elections.

I am simply not interested. These are my choices:

Of the 3 main candidates one is a power hungry leftwinger with half the staff in his office investigated for fraud by the Police and the other Conservative MP who once called black people “piccaninies” and spoke of their moonlight faces and white teeth when they smile. The only one worth voting for is an ex Police Chief he is not wanted for fraud, is not a Conservative candidate nor Labour ,not a racist, knows about crime reduction techinques unlike thes two jokers and he has not uttered two words about moonlight faced people . One more of my frustration is he wont win. One of the jokers will….

Hidaya, You should move to the states to escape overt racism and experience covert racism. Your Brit English will open doors here for you because as much as it may annoy me many here find it savvy, smart and sexy. And living in the new empire beats living in the old empire.

The weather here is crappy too: I won’t mind Milli Vinilli blame it on the rain….:)
