100 Bernos Ethiopian Millennium Tshirts on sale!
We talked and talked about it; we teased you and annoyed you. Enough, it’s here!
When we said only 100 Millennium T-shirts, the Bernos Blog and our email inbox was bombarded questioning ‘why.’ I think we have answered it for the most part, but we would like to add that we are not in ’the business of the masses.’
We are a small group of creative abesha’s producing and providing products that are indisputably quality in most if not all aspects. We are perfectionists in process, from concept to production to presentation. From the drawing room to the shooting room 1 to customer service; yup we upped our game this time!
….the concept for the 3rd release Ethi-Milli Bernos photo-shoot was to convey the message that ‘ the Ethiopian woman making her stance felt in this upcoming millennia.‘ Setting her foot down and making it known that she too can be domineering. As for the Ethiopian man, he is taking a step back and is confident enough to let her take the lead. The models were great and cooperated to make this shoot better than anticipated” 1beshou
We are growing, people are hearing, some are buying and the rest are complaining. Did I say we are perfect? No, we are not, we try hard, we are persistent! But perfect we are not!
We lack! We lack patience; we are already talking about the next step before this step. This thing we are doing, as small as it is… takes time, money and resources.
Meanwhile the inbox is filling up! One of the most consistently asked questions was sizing issue. We did not know there are double extra large sized Ethiopians. Well, we think some of them just like bulel yale tshirt, nonetheless we’ve fixed it. From now , we will produce & provide ‘XXL’ sized Bernos tshirts.
The next complaint, which we consider somewhat spam is inventory; it seems Bernos Tshirts are apparently a hot commodity and selling out fast. We can aid you there as well, we will inform you, we just can’t help you.
The questions have been answered.
Sizing, we have it!
Security, we are protected!
Shipping, we will send it, & it is fast!
Customer Service, we only satisfy Bernos customers!
Restocking, what? EF restocking, buy it while it lasts!

But with all due respect, the picture of the guy is not appealing - having seen the standard of the picture of the girls just above.

Here is the thing about copyright and famous faces. For example Elvis Presley, Marylyn Monroe have a trust that protects their intellectual property. Their names and their images.. Their faces can not be copyrighted? The use of their name as a slogan or as a title of a book can not be copyrighted…
What can be protected by copyright is their specific photo? In some cases the photo is not even owned by the person and or the trust but the photographer or the artist. Andy Warhol trust for example has a protected images of many faces.
And then there is more variables to protection? If the image is not used as a trademark and or profit related matters then usually the copyright doesn’t apply and the trust is not even interested in protecting it.
So to answer your question? Can anyone make a tshirt that says abebe bikila, haile sellassie bob Marley and etc, YES… can we use any photo? No we can’t… Is the image we are using protected? No… because we drew it the color the slihoutte the placement of the word “bikila” …. Did we base the structure of the face from a photo? Yes …. Is that photo copyrighted? No, we used public domain photo! But even if the image was based on a protected image… there are a certain amount of variables we can change and still use it legally?
We actually did a lot of research on this? Let me know if you need any more info

wow !!! very impressive phot shoot indeed!! the t’s look great on the ladies wearing them, wearing is not the right word flaunting is more like it, are out of this world…I love evrything about the t’s concept and execution inclided.. I have ordered me two pairs and cant wait to get my hands on them !!

God forbid! I think I am beginning to fall in love with the girl whose feet is in the front.I like her beautiful eyes and her seemingly soft and soothing but equally penetrating and deep stare.
About the T-Shirts, Is it the dress that makes the women or is it the women that makes the dress?
I have nothing with the guy. But i have commented on the * picture of the guy *! I think there is a difference. There is no art in that picture. He is just sitting and staring at us - look at the girls’ picture instead - look at where their eyes are looking, their complexion, how the make-up on their faces and their eye brows goes along with the color of the t-shirts, their hair style and ear rings, the style they are standing up,…i mean, it is not just about girls. There is a lot of work in that picture, if you have eyes to see! The other picture he had with the girl on the shopping page is somehow better but again, I would not say that is nice!
We need to develop the culture of criticizing one another and that is how we grow. Next time, I guess they will take this comment in to consideration. It was not meant to offend anybody and I mentioned that with due respect!
