Bernos Photo Shoot-II

bernos-tshirts2.jpg

Follow up to Bernos Photo Shoot!

The Second Bernos photo shoot was very much a success! Beshou, our resident photographer did an amazing job. The shots as you will see in the coming days look great. We went all out and went to a graffiti park!

The weather was not that bad. Although it was somewhat cold, it worked to our advantage. We had our accessories on; just the way you would wear a Bernos Tshirt in the in the winter.

For this, Bernos will like to thank all the models and people behind the scenes!  First and foremost our talented photographer for her support of Bernos from day one.

Meron, I won’t say much here but that I love you! Bernos Tshirts look great but on you for some reason they look amazing.

Koki, thanks for coming down. She had finals to study for but decided to sneak and take a shot (pun intended) I hope you get an A!

Netsy, thank you for trusting us! And thank you for being a good sport! She didn’t hesitate to take her jacket off!

Dawit man, I look forward to a bigger role on Bernos. Even so, you might want to give the Gap a call!

The Toothpick himself has said that he endorses Bernos. That makes two celebrity sponsors for Bernos. For those who can’t get enough …. Visit him at the Tirs Mefakia Fabrica!

At the grafitti park we met one of the artists who painted the wall. He was very generous with his time. Showed us his sketch book minamin. He even posed for us. Thanks, I didn’t know white people look good with a Bernos Tshirt.

The entourage, ya we had hoy hoy yemileu friends too. Nahom, the funniest guy I know, Kassa, and my buddy bethel; thanks for coming!

allsmall.jpg

Ok we did our parts. The new Tshirts will start to sell on Wednesday! Those that buy before the 19 will receive it before Christmas!

The Three new Tshirts are Sold in Merkato , ET-Alien & I dream in Amarigna! We are only here to sell a few Tshirts; we will only be here as long as you support us. Those of you who plan not to buy for one reason or another, you can still support us by forwarding this pages' link to those who have not heard about Bernos by using the Send to a Freind link below. Thank you!

  2. 2 nardos

    Wussup?
I’d just like to say that although you don’t know me, I am very proud of what you have accomplished. I’ve watched this site build for about 5 month and I must say that, as a supporter of Habesha businesses etc, it’s been a pleasure to watch you grow.
    Peace

    Nardos, LA

  3. 3 Samuna

I dont think this blog should be used to promote anything. People like the articles you guys write and so on but I dont think this is the place for you to keep on pluging and asking for people to buy tshirts.

The product should sell itself. If it doesn’t I suggest you guys just concentrate on the blog, without ruining it by saying buy buy buy!

  4. 4 yonas

Nolawi, congrats on the new t-shirts! The photoshoot looks tres cool. Yes your Bishou is clearly talented, picked a terrific location too. Your konjo modellists mernos koki netsy all look sooooo fine, and I’d sure buy ANYTHING the merkato girl in the middle is selling. Gents, you’re looking aiight too.

  5. 5 FlorNueva

nice. very nice. Can’t wait to order mine.
…and the dude in the Bikila shirt is muy muy sesky!

  6. 6 Mitmita

Sammua….what are you talking about….that was the main purpose of the site…the incredible blog are just an addition to the t-shirts… we should support Bernos in anyway we can including promoting the t-shirts and buying as many as we can.

Anyways….lovely pictures …awesome job on the photo shoot, and the t-shirts , in my opinion are priceless, you guys exceeded my expectation.

  7. 7 Shanti

Bernos models… all looking good, most of all you have made the T-shirts look even better ;)

Nolawi, seriously… just reading your blogs on Bernos had my imagination running high and for some reason I had a picture of you in my mind that looked very much like that of the bald headed hunk in the pic. That model looks hot, hot and mega hot ;) Would he be deliverd by New Years eve along with the T-Shirts, should I make a purchase or two? … ;)

Why do I have a feeling that Chelama looks like the braided model in the pic? Cute but very much like what I imagine Chelama to look like ;)

On a serious note, I love what you are doing… keep up the good work!

Wishing you and your Bernos family much success to come!

  8. 8 Mila De souza

C’est toujours bon voir que la jeunesse éthiopienne obtient impliqué dans leurs propres affaires et est la commercialisation de créative leurs produits. J’aimerais à purchse quelques tee-shirts dans l’avenir proche.

  12. 12 kiki

Congrats Nolawi!! Keep up the good work. The t-shirts are just too fab for words.

Shanti, If bald-headed hottie can be delivered on New Years Eve, I will see your two shirts and raise you another six. :-)

  13. 13 Dboi

wow nice T-shirts…actually i got the addis ababa t-shirt but i wanna get “i dream in amarigna” one….very nice and creative…. and…and…hmmm.. who is the girl in green t-shirt..very cute… :)

  14. 14 Shanti

Kiki, don’t be starting a gambling war… you know I called it first ;) Besides, my 12 step program lead tells me that gambling is Evil and I must refrain ;) But, if it comes down to it… I’m willing to play with the devil himself!

I tell you, that kind of look and ale’babes is just what I am into… my oh my - he is FINE!

  15. 15 merhawi

cant wait to see the pics…when u comin out with the ‘i dream in tigrigna/guragigna/oromigna/aderigna…’ versions?

  16. 16 kiki

I know you called it first but you know what they say, “All is fair in love and war.” Bring it on Sista!

  17. 17 La Joconde

I am sooo into the ET-Alien tee. Every time we talk about Tatooes, my boyfriend always says if he was ever to get one, it would be ‘Alien/Refugee’. So, I am closely looking but where is the ET-Alien writing?? Or wasnt there to be any at all?

  18. 18 Nolawi

    no there is no writing…

refer to the ET alien article!

  19. 19 coca

I thought Bernos was in the t-shirt business…not bald hot models:)

  20. 20 ShalomShalom

    muu hahaha
ok! bikila needs a flip phone. i see his long cell in his pocket.
and is the scarf bikila’s or ET alien’s? bidders of bikila need to take note.

    toothpick’s corn rows are killers
the picture taker is a killer. look forward to seeing more pics.

the yellow ET alien t-shirt is the bomb!
    nice work bernosssianssss

  21. 21 Timo

Congrats all. Gap, abrecrobie and fitch models and the like ain’t got nothin on you!

Ok…the braided model is sizzling HHHHHHOOOOTTTTT!!! Is he a professional model?

  22. 22 dinbulo

who is who in the picture again?

    Nice t-shirts…will definetely get one.

  23. 23 Shanti

Shalom: you got some serious vision… hehe. I had not taken notice of the cell phone in his pocket. It took me several takes before I was able to see it. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s his wallet.

Now, that scarf… very suspicious, how about his hand over Aliens shoulders…this only adds to the suspicion… huh, something is up with them two… Nolwai, menew, was this a photo shot or a hook-up session?

  24. 24 celebratelife

The t’s look wow but the male models look wow, wow. Shanti and Kiki, I’m laughing so hard, at your comments, it hurts! Yeah the bald guy is kinda cute but the center field is hot with broad shoulders and a nice smile mannn, dude you’re bangin. To top it off he got the shoulder lean. The left field with the braids I just love his chocolade tone and ruff ryder look. I dedicate to the male models the song…I’m too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt so sexy it hurts.

Samuna, you need to wash your mouth out with soap coz your ideas and thoughts have left a bad taste in your mouth. Make sure you don’t use mora samuna that’ll just complicate things. “The product should sell itself.” you’re not in marketing or sales is you? Ever heard of commercials, billboards, sales pitch uhhhh that’s all because the product sell’s itself yeah sure Einstein. What came first the chicken (blog) or the egg (t-shirt)?

You guys did an amazing job can’t wait to order.

  25. 25 lol

Is it me or does Nolawi looks like a girl? hahahah

  26. 26 Nolawi

hey lol You cant be serious!

here is a better angle at the manly man :)

so which shirt do you like?

  27. 27 koki

Not to veer off the subject, but has anyone gone to see the documentary “Black Gold -wake up and smell the coffee”? It a sort of new documentary currently playing in DC- E st. theater to be exact!!! Guess what it’s about? Right on the money, or country and coffee growers. The lack of regulation by the WTO (World Trade Organization) is killing our people. It just goes through the process of getting you that cup of coffee at the Starbucks. It was just heart wrenching for me to sit there and look at our people sweat for nothing. It just brought out the idealist in me who believes that hard work ought to be rewarded. Not only is it very sad to know that our people are suffering, but also to see the lack of support for the movie on our part. My friends and I were the only habasha people in the theater; not to mention that there were only about 10 other people. The theater is trying to cut it in a couple of days because of the lack of revenue. Please, I am pleading with you guys to go see it. Even if it doesn’t evoke the same emotions in you as it did me, you will still have supported a cause by making others aware of the evils being suffered by our people. If it stays around, others who see it will likely get involved in our struggle as well. By the way, you can also go to http://www.blackgoldmovie.com to see what you can do. Lots of petitions are going around ……especially to Nestle, Starbucks etc….

  28. 28 toothpick

nolawi … the “manly man” pic you just put up … lol. err …

ma mens! from hhwere you are goes wiz hands on the crotch of your person you are touches yourselves for what ze purpose, hm? god is not happy today with you, young frog.

  29. 29 kiki

    Nolawi,

Thanks for the close-up of BHH (bald-headed hottie) and you of course. So that is what you look like. All that manliness and hair, uhm uhm uhm. If I only weren’t a one man woman ……… ;-)

  30. 30 Chelema

Can’t believe i missed this one. Very nice pictures, and wonderful looks I must admit. Its funny, I focused so much on the people and forgot that they were wearing Bernos T-shirts. Okay so I say its flawless and the “Photo GeChE” should be displayed for the world to see at time Square. There it is I said it, Photo Piazza ain’t got nothing on Bernos.

  31. 31 nyalasmoke

I didn’t know bernos was selling blue jeans

and yeah dont forget to watch black gold.

  32. 32 Debritu

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm are all the Denverites moving to the East Coast?

  33. 33 Nolawi

I am not a denverite! I am actually embarred that I lived in denver… out of the 28 years I have been alive.. the worst five yrs is the ones I spent in denver.. seriously… the worst place to live…

other parts of colorado are nice.. like colorado springs and boulder and to some extent aspen…

anyways i doubt dawit is represented by denver as well.. he is swedish!

I dont care you guys do not agree about my assessment of denver… I know atleast one person agrees with me Kobe Bryant!

  34. 34 Nolawi

I wonder why .. model tyrese model tyrese is ignoring the ladies here… oh sorry i meant model dawit~

  35. 35 blenmark

hey now nolawi…i know for sure u had some best memory times in denver so do not say the ‘worst place’…i have lived e.coast too. but i love denver, not specifically denver city but other cities are beautifull….and then…everyone is different…..:)
by the way i always wondered how old u were now i know :)

do not hate denver….u are always welcome to our side of ‘home town’

  36. 36 Uncle B

I have to agree with Blen on this one. I think it was just misuse of words. yo! Nolawi, Kobe probably has a darn good reason why he wouldn’t like CO, and by the way he never said he didn’t. Not to get out of context here, but if you were humiliated like he did by your wrong deeds here, we ‘denverites’ will forgive you. You’re always welcome to visit.

I like your t-shirt line. It’s neat, it’s colorful, it represents and very urban like. You’re well in you way to entrepreneurship. Keep up the good work!

    B

  37. 37 Nolawi

daym… we have big denver readership.. good to know!

  38. 38 Nebiyu Asfaw

    Nolawi,

I would have to disagree with you about Denver.. Denver is one of the best places to live in this country. It’s beautiful, it’s clean, there are lots of opportunities and people are friendly (unlike the e.coast). I’ve lived in Denver for many moons and I have seen it grow and progress over the years. I would not trade it for any other city. And I’m not just saying this to be a patriotic denverite; but I’ve seen many places around this country and only a hand full can compare to Denver.

    Peace

  39. 39 Dboi

hmmm..when i hear denver one thing comes to mind is that a cartoon show i used to watch back home…and the theme song…deeenver the last dinosour…denver the last dinosour..dada ..dada..lol..sorry can’t help it…go head..

  40. 40 Nebiyu Asfaw

Dboi - I used to love that show… lol

  41. 41 blenmark

well…i think we may have changed nolawi’s inputs about denver….:) any ways….call me cheap….i like the t-shirts but a little expensive for me….do they ever come out on sale….if so let me know :)

koki girl…wow…long time since i have seen u and now u are a beautiful model…how are you girly girl… oh by the way next time if you need a model let me know i would not mind sharing my beautity for bernos

  42. 42 Debritu

Can somebody tell me if I live in a different Denver? I live in Denver because of never ending circumstances and now it is just laziness, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I am being very polite here not to offend other Coloradoans’. But heck it sucks to be here. So you guys help a sister out to move to DC. Eshi Dawit? I remember you from the coffee shop…..such a serious student……..lol Nolawi, you are doing great.

  43. 43 blenmark

hey…u just need to see denver out of the box for being not crowded and way diverse like DC…i love co…lived there for 8 years…y enjera gudaye awetage…like my friend earlier said…i hav lived other places pluse VA-DC nothing homi like CO…you have everything….start to go out and explore from the west to the south…outdoor, indoor activity…whatelse u need my dear debreye….u have to hook up with arife co ppl to start enjoying it…:):) u can hit the mountain, the book store, the jazz place around coorsfield area to boulder, coffee shop (not starbucks) where they have musical night, indoor activity, potery night, music at the park, nice jazz, hiphop pars, like blues, and u can never go wrong with the beautiful mountain, vail!!!u have to go, the lake, i mean there are a lot debreyeee just open ur eyes my beloved

  44. 44 Chelema

blenmark, So which spot should I check out on Christmass eve? It just so happens that me and my whole family from chicago will be in Denver to visit my brother and his family. I’m a party animal so come chirstmass eve, I would like to chill at a place where I can see some cool habesha people. Any suggestions?

  45. 45 Uncle B

Debritu is losing her mind. Whachu know about Denver any damn way Debritu? I don’t recommend ‘YOUSELF’ to anyone. Quit acting like you’ve got a point. All I’m seeing is nothing but whinning about laziness this and circumstances that. Get help. You sound just like that giraffe stuck in a quicksand in stage of ‘depression’- on Robot Chicken Show.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtymV5jlwrI

enjoy looking at your damn self Debritu!

  46. 46 Nebiyu Asfaw

    Blen.

Very well said.. I heard Mayor Hickenlooper may soon retire, I think I will nominate you to run for Mayor. :)

    Deberitu,

Another thing is that, despite popular belief, we have a very nice weather, at least much better than DC. Have you ever been to DC in the summer and felt the heat and humidity? Or have you been to DC in the middle of winter? They have a bipolar weather that goes from one extreme to another. At least in Denver, with the exception of a few days a year we have mild temparature not as brutal as the east coast.

An interesting fact that I read a while back actually listed Denver as one of the sunniest places in America. Denver actually has more sunny days in a year than places like Miami.

  47. 47 Debritu

Lord why do I always get myself in controversies here at Bernos? Can’t a girl speak her mind? I also happen to know many Ethiopians that never liked it and moved. Although I don’t know him personally Nolawi happens to be one of them. Hey Denver has a beautiful weather, it is clean, and I love the mountains. I am not denying all that. But, it lacks all the exciting activities that the East Coast has.
I don’t understand why some people resort to insult to make their point, Uncle B, you can agree to disagree on a point without sounding arrogant and stupid.

  48. 48 Uncle B

    Debritu!

See there you are whinning again! I never insluted you in any part of my blog comments. But you did! You flat out called me stupid. That’s why you need help. What I was saying is that you didn’t make any point(s) so that I can agree or disagree with you. Just look up on your comments. Bad enough you started to denfend yourself now thinking that you are being attacked by me. Don’t be all emotional. Or don’t be coming around here with that nasty attitude of yours. I rest my case sister.

    B

  49. 49 Nolawi

daymm,… so many denver people… hey i don’t recognize any of you because of your ambigous nicks…

esti… drop an email… this is who and who.. from denver.. minamin… nolawi.petros at gmail. com… ofcource I remember nebiyou…

    blenmark… i assume your real name is blen… i do not know you…do I? I only knew one blen…

as far as the price.. we print on american apparel.. which sale at 15 when they are blank… we ofcource have to buy whole sale and then shipped from LA fabrica… then we design and then get screen printed… which costs about 2.5$ per color… from what we spend on marketing… we actually come out even… no profits at all!

yes of cource we could have used sweatshop tshirt from Guatemala or china.. which can be bought at wholesale at about 300% less than American apparels… like the once sold at the soccer tournament… but they shrink the color is not consistent and the texture is horrible… so when we started Bernos we decided not to produce anything we wouldn’t be proud to wear ourselves… REGARDLESS THE CURRENT SHIRTS WILL BE ON SALE AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME…

  50. 50 Debritu

Take it easy Uncle B, have you considered anger management? Compare your response to me as opposed to Blen’s and Nebiyu’s. Semayena Merete. Talk about being emotional and defensive. I am done with you for all I care Denver’n azlehe zure.

  51. 51 Chelema

Debritu and Uncle B, may be you two should consider dating each other. At least you would have a point then. Funny thing about our cities is that they all have their own true qualities. Here is an example, I love everything about Chicago and I will not even consider moving to any other city in the states, my brother on the other hand hates everything about Chicago and thinks Atlanta is where its @. So stop fighting and just tell those of us interested in finding out about the hottest spot in Denver so we can have some good timess while visiting it. Kapish?

  52. 52 Shanti

How did we go from the Bernos T-Shirt’s and BHH to DENVER? Of all the subjects and States to discuss, you all decided to talk about Denver? Menew?? What’s next North Dakota?
I’m stuck on the cutie BHH and nothing that is written under this topic is grabbing my attention at the moment except… ;)

Nolawi, the new link you added is awesome… BHH is looking mighty fine… some 411 on him would be nice… remember, sharing is caring!

Celebrate: Girl how was your vacation or are you still on your vacation?

  53. 53 Nebiyu Asfaw

Chelema - If you want habesha clubs check out Nile or Africana. Nile usually would have some asmari or zefagn.. Africana is mostly DJ… Habesha Restaurant is small and crowded but they got a cool DJ, you can check them out…. Arada also has chifera with a DJ on Sunday nights. Arada is downtown and a little far but its cool… After the chifera, roll by Rendezvous for after hour gathering.. no drinks or music but they got the best after hour shiro and fitfit in town; plus everybody goes there so you get to meet people..

If you’re looking for American clubs Reggae on the Roof, DC 10, Monarch and Diamond Cabrine (Tuesday’s) are some of the hottest ones for now… I also recommand you check out the LoDo area of Downtown on Market Street… lots of bars and clubs…..

  54. 54 Uncle B

Hey y’all, what’s the cut-off date to receive these t-shirts a day or so before christmas? OR I gotta wait until after new year to get’em.

lol! Debritu I got nothing but love for ya.

  55. 55 Nolawi

the 19th… in most of the us…

except oregon california. and washington… then its the 18th…

  56. 56 Lovejones

Let me chime in the Denver discussion,

I myself have also lived in Denver. Loved Boulder and the mountains (spent quite a bit of time), but Denver is not that bloomish-Nebiyu. The clubs are wack and very limited. As much as I know ’bout clubs and nightlife, the whitefolks spot is always nice, but very little to offer to minorities with selection of music and culture. Yes, Colorado has many sunny days, but the dry air practically tears up your nostrils. I love outdoor activities and the further suburbs are very welcoming…skiing, rafting, hiking…etc. You and I both know the Habesha spots are weak/very weak. Denver is cool for the average person who loves to spend boring and unexciting weekends. If you are not connected with people/networking, hard to find good spots to hang out. I loved my experience in Denver because of friends and acquaintances, but not the atmosphere or what the city has to offer.

Life in DC is love man, so much diversity, so much ethnicity, so much culture. Living in LA, Dallas, Chi, NYC, Houston, Seattle…etc have more to offer.

Nolawi, you and I have practically similar opinions when it comes to Denver.

    My 2 Cents.

  57. 57 Nolawi

hey guys working late trying to get the shirts to you guys today.. but having encoutered some software trouble…
anyways.. i will be up for the next to hours… keep me company.. i am on msn.. nolawi@msn.com

hey about… the BHH its dawitK… and he is studying for his finals… once he is finished he will be around after this week… he is graduating from grad school… ladies so relax till then…

  58. 58 toto

    Yamm the Bold Guy LOL

  59. 59 yonas

Come on Nolawi, how about catering for the fellas needs?! We demand more photos and info on the merkato melon smuggler.

  60. 60 Chelema

Yo Nebiyou, thanks a bunch man. I will check out some of the spots you mentioned. Do you currently reside in Denver? I wouldn’t mind hangin out. let me know.

  61. 61 Atsku

I used to live in Colorado, and i would agree its a good place to live, if you are the outdoors type who doesn’t like to party. But nonetheless its a nice place with good scenery and especially if you are older. I am happy that the Bikila shirt is on sale, I am going to get a couple more for gifts, that is by far one of the best shirts you have. That is one of our hero’s, hopefully that shirt will be as famous as Che Guevarra or a Bob Marley shirt. and Nolawi I would like to say I love this forum, and I think your prices are just right.

  62. 62 Debritu

Chelema, have fun in Denver and make sure to let us know of your impression about the city. As for me, will be heading home for the holidays. ADDIS HERE I COME!!!

Have a Happy and safe Holiday everyone! Will see you all in 2007!

    God Bless!

  63. 63 tata

What a picture! I like the quality of the picture and varieties of the “models.” But what’s up with the wall? Is that Alien-et that came to the states or what? I killed to much time to figure out why you guy’s used that ugly wall.
Beside that, it was nice to see shy Ethiopians on a picture…I don’t know who is who, but I can guess some of you are sharing your ideas in the blog. Out of all, there is one potential candidate to be a model with a natural look and beauty. Keep it up and look for an agent. You only need confidence and be out your shyness.

It’s a good star even though, not better than photo shot-I..

  64. 64 chelema

Tata, I thought the wall was rather nice and very artish. But who is responsible for suggesting the way they dress? If these guys/girls came to the photo shoot wearing what they normally wear, then I bow-down and say “you guys got taste” the scarves are bangin too. But if its the work of someone else, I would like to talk to that person. So who’s the (big-booby-chick)?

  65. 65 Nebiyu Asfaw

    Lovejones,
I respectfully disagree; I think you are tenting an unfair picture of Denver. If you measure the quality of a city by how many hip hop clubs there are, then I have no argument with you. DC, NY, Chi town minamin have the upper hands.. But we are going to leave that for the findata generation. For those of us 25+ the standard should be different. We have to look further than dankira bets and consider the whole picture of the place where we choose to reside. As for the Habesha places, I think most habesha places around the US are wack including the spots in DC. Off course with a few exception given to places like Dukem.

And I think you are right about having the network of friend making a difference, but that is not unique to Denver. You can live in DC, LA or NY, you will not enjoy it unless you have a network of special friends to share your experience with. People make the difference, not necessarily the place you live in. I do however concede that if you are single and looking for romance DC, NY or LA may be a better place by the mere fact that the quantity of Habeshas is far greater. But, then again quantity does not always equal quality. I still hear my friends in DC complaining about how it’s difficult to find a decent person in the DC area. To each his own. I got much love for DC and the e.coast as long as I’m there as a tourist. But, when it comes to building my gojo; I’d rather stick with Denver.

  66. 66 Nebiyu Asfaw

    Chelema,

For sure - email me at nebiyuasfaw@yahoo.com and I’ll give you my #. Let me know when you’re gonna be here minamin and we’ll hook up.

BTW - I would be very interested to know who the other Denverites here are… email me and say what’s up - may be we could have a Bernos Denver get together :)

    Peace.

  67. 67 Uncle B

I like the photo shoot. It’s elegant- I thought the wall gives the picture more urbanish look. I gotta admit chelema, I got my eyes on her too(big-booby-chick) great smile!

  68. 68 chelema

    Hey Nol

I’m supporting Bernos by telling ppl about it…and have just ordered my first T-shirt (I dream in Amaringa)……but please do something about color selection….I love the ET but ain’t my kind of color…..even the one I ordered isn’t my kind of blue…but will do for now. So work on a selection of colors please.

Another thing, of all the ppl discussing Denver, I’d have thought you loved Denver BECAUSE you had a lot of fun…..u must be having a heck lot more fun in DC…..
For those who commented for and against Denver, you have to be in the right circle to love Denver…I LOVE Denver coz I had the best of friends who enjoyed life!

  74. 74 Uncle B

    Chelema,

Sounds like a deal. Neb is my boy. He is the ambassador in town. Get at him or myself when you hit Denver. It will be a good sort of promo for Bernos.org Denver debut or something of that nature get together! Word of mouth is a great tool. I’m sure Nolawi agrees on this.

  80. 80 Tobian

    LOL, toothpick.

The wet dreams should most def be on sale for various languages!

The second suggestion will be a hit in a few languages especially at a “selamawi” self. It may be a tad unethical but what US business is? :p

  81. 81 Shanti

Hi Nolawi, I thought about it a lot and I would like for you to give this letter to Dawit for me pleaze. If you feel its too much then feel free to edit it… here goes:

    Dear Dawitiye,
I’m sure with your continued education and your side-modeling career that you got going… you might have forgotten me. Let me re-introduce myself to you – my name is… but you can call me “Shanti” (it means peace) – I’m your future wife. You see your parents owed my parents some cows and since they could not pay them back, they promised your hand in marriage to me once I was of age. Since you went away to the West and disappeared on us, I have been waiting until I found you. Long story short… now that we have found each other… we can start our life together. So, if you have a girlfriend at the moment, please let her down easy as the time has come for us to be together!

Anyway, once you are done with your final exams, I would like to invite you to meet some of my or our new dysfunctional family members at Bernos.org. Please be warned some of the girls/women/ladies in this family are like vultures as their intention is to break us apart but little do they know that we are destined to be together, FOREVER ;)

I can’t wait for you to come join us in here as I have missed you all my life. Thanks to Nolawi, we have finally found each other again. Did I tell you, the moment I saw your picture, I knew it had to be you… oh my dear edumacated, BHH virtual husband of mine. I love you!!!

BTW: our parents are asking for some grandbabies so we need to get busy quickly. As for naming our offspring’s, I already have names picked out - if it’s a boy - Da’Shan and if it’s a girl - Da’Shanti. Don’t worry about the hair thing either… I have nice long hair; lets pray them kids don’t get their hair from your side of the family ;)

    With all my Love,
    Shanti

  82. 82 Nolawi

Dawit has been reading… who knew he would be a hit! :)

anyways.. his final is tomorrow.. tata till then!

  83. 83 toothpick

nolawi, you should add the following jobs to your resume:
    - pimp
    - agent
    - fax machine

    :)

  84. 84 Nolawi

As long as I am not the hoe… I am ok!

  85. 85 kiki

    Shanti,

I didn’t know about the lamoch. But I will have you know that my love for BHH transcends mere family obligations. My love transcends time and space. He is the Anthony to my Cleopatra, my Romeo to my Juliet, my Shrek to my Fiona. Mere family obligations aren’t going to keep us apart. As I write Shimagles are being assembled to negotiate payment of said obligations. So BHH and I are free to be together, after finals of course.

  86. 86 lulu

Nolawi, There are two fundamental different causes for your t-shirt designs… The natural colors, and the intelligent design. I celebrate you for your new evolution and preserving our culture. Your previous design have been very popular and actually famous.

I love the marketing idea and the purpose of this site! I have been spreading the words, as a matter of a fact I have posted “Addis Ababa Classic” on myspace http://www.myspace.com/mcmaki. I am proud to wear your design during my shows! Check out the picture taken at S.O.B Live show, pic. section of myspace. :)

I can’t wait to model the new t-shirts… My favorite new design is “I dream in Amarigna” Just like toothpick said, I also dream in Haderigna, Ormoigna, Guragigna, Tigrigna, Welaitigna! LOL

Kudos to the Bernos crew and good luck!

NOLAWI, beautiful models, pics, and beautiful T-Shirts…

BUT BUT BUT…..I cant believe you said hate Denver that much. I thought we all had fun together. MTS… True, it’s not diverse, kind of cold, not a lot of habesha ppl or habesha spots, but it has everything else….In my four years in Boulder, CO I had nothing but fun, fun, fun. School at CU Boulder wasn’t easy, but everying else was great. PPL are real and friendly, it’s very clean, fresh air, a lot of out door activites. My two years in Denver City is also memorable, met very good friends, partied like no other….so Nolawi, I’m sad u did have as much fun as I did.

ANYWAY, I’M PROUD OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH BERNOS…KEEP IT UP !

  111. 111 chelema

Okay, Can I make a movie about this? I call it “How Shanti Got Her Grooves Back” Staring Shanti (AKA shibaba) and…introducing Wudnesh, DawitK, and that Gay Guy. The plot summary would go like this.

Set in a blog cyber space of Bernos.org is a conflict between Lust and True Love. Shanti, the youngest daughter of Mr & Mrs Qumilachew, is an ambitious Ethiopian girl determined to find the loss of her true love, the love that was promissed to her by the parents of the bold headed hunk named DawitK. Dawitk’s parents were once a rich family of farmers until Dawitk decided to spend all their money in secret to fullfil his dreams of becoming a professional model, as a result, forcing his family to bankrupt. Now Dawitk’s family had no choice but to borrow money from the people they count on. So they turn to Mr & Mrs Qumilachew for money only to find out that Mr Qumilachew had invested all their money in a Live Stock development, particularly in the areas of La-mOch Di-le-BA.

Shanti’s parents, feeling sympathatic to the situation decided to lend Dawitk’s parents a few cows, and asked that if in the event Dawitk’s parents refuse to pay them back, their son’s fate will be left in the hands of their daughter Shanti. Dawitk’s parents had no choice but to agree to these terms even though they knew Mr & Mrs Qumilachew were out of their mind.

As the days turn into a month and the months into a year and the years into a decade, Dawitk’s parents were no where to be found and were suspected to have fled the area with their only son Dawitk, and immigrated to the United States so that their son could once more be given the opportunity to pursue his modeling dreams and his education. Meanwhile, Shanti hadn’t given up hope. Even though she and Dawitk had never been intimate lovers, she had always kept her love for Dawitk a secret, but only with a hope that someday, the love that was promissed to her would return and that she would re-claim back the love that was rightfully hers.

Of course life would take its own sweet time, and on Dec 10, 2006, shanti discovers that the picture of her true love was posted on Bernos.org blog and that a girl named Wudnesh and her Gay Partner were plotting to get him into a three sum. Shanti immediately reacts to the posted pictures by writing a letter explaining her royalty of this young man and by warning Wudnesh and that Gay Guy to back off. But for Wudnesh and that Gay Guy, this is more than a battle for a Bold Headed Hunk, its an addictive lust they had grown for years and continue to hunt handsome men who are bold, only to satisfy their lustful act. So the small conflict turns into one of the deadliest cyber space conflicts ever. Shanti was determined to win the heart of her man, so she goes after Wudnesh and that Gay Guy with full throttle. In the mean time, Dawitk sits back, relaxes and focuses only on his long overdue dreams of becoming somebody, while the three engage in a fight that turned deadly.
